Sycamore
A longstanding piece of historic German Village, Sycamore had a new owner looking to reinvent the space and brand identity. With an updated concept that draws inspiration from the casual, laid-back elegance of Europe’s all-day cafés, Sycamore is based on the love of neighborhood restaurants that weave themselves into the rhythms of our day to day lives. This German Village gem is open for breakfast, lunch or dinner.
The beautiful storefront was brought to life with a fresh coat of paint, a take-out window, and hand painted signage. The space was reimagined by Mary Dietsch Architecture & Design.
Our identity system is a kit of parts. Leaning on the natural connection to its namesake, we incorporated sycamore green into the palette and a leaf into our logos. Our letterforms were custom-designed and are a fresh approach to German blacklettering.
Our brand had to stretch across Sycamore’s offer of breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We worked hard to create an identity that felt equally comfortable over coffee as it did branzino.

We brought a natural touch to order numbers by incorporating pressed artifacts gathered from our backyard.
We styled a photoshoot by Erika Clark and had a great time capturing beautiful imagery that we used across the Sycamore website and social media.
We created an elegant website that is easily-updatable by the client.
